Customer terms
JobLok service terms
Effective 19 August 2026. These terms apply to the JobLok trial and paid service in Australia.
Who provides JobLok
JobLok is operated by Michael Ferguson. The legal supplier name, billing contact and ABN (if applicable) appear on the customer's written order confirmation or invoice. Questions can be sent through JobLok support or to michael.g.ferguson@gmail.com.
Agreement and authority
These terms and the customer's written order confirmation form the agreement. By creating a paid Business or continuing after the agreed start date, the customer accepts them. The person accepting confirms that they can bind the named Business. A written order confirmation prevails only where it expressly changes these terms.
The service
JobLok is a site-visit capture and work-understanding tool. It retains Business-authorised evidence, helps prepare a reviewed Scope of Works, and supports optional quote, Job and Xero handoff workflows. It is not an accounting, engineering, legal, compliance, safety-certification or automated pricing service.
The customer controls its work records and commercial decisions. JobLok may improve or change the service, but will not materially remove paid core functionality during a current paid month without reasonable notice unless a change is needed for security, law or service integrity.
Accounts and authorised use
The customer is responsible for accurate Business details, individual user access, lawful evidence collection, and promptly removing people who no longer need access. Users must not share credentials, bypass security, introduce malicious content, interfere with the service, or use JobLok to infringe another person's rights or law.
Trial
A new Business receives 30 days of full-feature access, capped at 10 completed Site Visits to prevent abuse. The trial ends when either limit is reached. It does not automatically charge or convert to a paid plan; continuing requires an agreed plan.
Plans, usage and invoices
- Solo: A$24.99 per Business per month, including 5 completed Site Visits; additional completed visits are A$5 each.
- Trade: A$49.99 per Business per month, including 15 completed Site Visits; additional completed visits are A$4 each.
- Every paid plan includes the same core features. Plans differ by completed Site Visit allowance, not by seats or feature access.
- A completed Site Visit counts once when it is processed into Draft Review. Reopening, editing, regenerating, adding evidence, exporting, or revisiting that same Site Visit does not count it again.
- Advertised prices are the total customer charge. Where GST applies, it is included and shown on a compliant tax invoice.
- There is no setup fee, annual lock-in or automatic card charge. Billing is currently manual, monthly in advance, with any usage overage reconciled on the next invoice.
- Renewal is monthly. JobLok sends the next manual invoice before the next paid period; the customer may choose not to renew.
Late payment and cancellation
JobLok sends a reminder when an invoice is overdue and contacts the customer directly after seven days. At fourteen days overdue, JobLok may decline the next renewal after written notice. Late payment does not automatically delete data or silently place the product in an unsupported read-only mode.
The customer may cancel through the billing email at any time. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid month unless an earlier date or refund is agreed in writing. Future invoices stop once cancellation is recorded.
Customer data and privacy
The customer retains ownership of its records and evidence. It gives JobLok a limited permission to host, process, transmit and back up that content only to provide, secure and support the service and the customer's requested integrations. The customer confirms it has authority to provide the content and personal information it submits.
Cancellation alone does not delete Business data. Before access ends, a Business owner should download the Business records from Account. A Business owner may separately schedule closure: the exact preview remains cancellable for 72 hours, then a second exact confirmation starts permanent cleanup. Some security, closure, Xero and provider records follow the limits in the Privacy notice.
AI-assisted output
AI features may transcribe evidence or suggest structure and material starting points. Outputs can be incomplete or wrong and must be reviewed by an authorised person. JobLok does not generate or guarantee prices, unsupported quantities, labour hours, rates, margins, tax treatment, compliance conclusions, warranties or legal advice. The customer remains responsible for its scope, measurements, trade obligations, quote and work.
Third-party services
Supabase, Vercel and OpenAI support the service, and Xero is optional. Third-party availability and independent records are outside JobLok's direct control. Connecting Xero authorises the requested transfer but does not make JobLok the accounting source of truth. Current processing details are in the Privacy notice.
Availability, security and urgent restriction
JobLok uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards but does not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. The customer should keep exported records needed for business continuity. JobLok may temporarily restrict affected access where reasonably necessary to contain an account compromise, unlawful use or material threat, and will give notice and restore access as soon as reasonably practical. Restriction does not authorise deletion.
Responsibility and legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes a guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable Australian Consumer Law protections. To the extent the law permits, JobLok is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or a commercial decision made without required human review. Any permitted liability limitation must be read subject to those non-excludable rights and the circumstances of the loss.
Ending for breach
Either party may end the agreement for a material breach not fixed within 14 days after written notice. Immediate restriction or termination is limited to urgent security threats, unlawful use, insolvency, or a breach that cannot reasonably be fixed. On ending, billing stops as agreed, export and data handling follow the cancellation section, and provisions intended to survive—such as ownership, confidentiality and accrued payment obligations—continue.
Changes and governing law
Changes apply prospectively after reasonable notice and do not rewrite an already-paid period. If the customer does not accept a material change, it may cancel before the next renewal. South Australian law governs the agreement, and the parties will first try to resolve a dispute directly and in good faith.
